  • We're researching venues, which include tables, chairs, and insurance. We're contacting potential panel guests and special guests.  We have a tentative September 2014 date.  The items on your list that have not been addressed are fund raising, printers (signage, badges, program guide, etc.), attendance and exhibitor fees, advertising (getting the word out), and hotel listings (which didn't even cross our minds).

  • So, remind me. What are the lists that are being compiled researched?

    1.) Venues

    2.) Chairs, tables

    3.) Printers, badges, ads, schedules

    4.) Fundraising

    5.) Guests

    6.) Activities, panels

7.) Hotel listings & convention rates for attendees

    8.) Attendance fee

    9.) Getting the word out

    10.) List of potential attendees

11.) umm, what else? lists. i want lists.

  • And that's what we do as parents.  Do your homework young lady and we don't want to see you until it's done.  God bless you and your parents.

  • Finish your math, young lady!

  • Hey you guys, just a heads up for a little bit I'm taking a break from the society....duty calls, and I really need to get my homeschool done. (And my parents are pretty much grounding me from internet access other than school for a little bit) I'm sure it wont be long, as long as I catch up soon, but keep me in your prayers and hope to come back soon. :)

  • For those new to the discussion it is worth going back and reading the previous posts. For example what about an East Coast convention. That is answered on this posting line on Dec. 1 by Ralph Miley. Also under the Discussion Forum (above) second session we have the original prospectus for the convention under my post for Dec. 6.

Please keep in mind this is slated to start as a one day convention with the idea that this is the first of a series of annual conventions that can expand as interest demands. Not everything can be addressed in the first convention--think long term. Dave Porta has good thoughts on who the audience is for such a convention and others also have had some good thoughts.

  • David, good possible panel discussion topics. Most of these have been at least spoken about as possibilities. while everything is still fluid at this stage we are thinking sincet this is a one day convention and we have two conference rooms available with 4 or 5 panels in each we'd have 8 or 10 possible panels. Hopefully we can strike a good balance on what would be interesting to potential convention goers.

Convention Theme Song

Erik Pineda said my new song sounds like a theme song for a Christian superhero. https://soundcloud.com/jotham-david-parker/truth-shortish-edit You guys should use it (or the longer original version) for the convention somehow. I think it fits really well. Or you can just rock out to it while you're drawing. Either way, enjoy!
