  • Justin, I am totally interested in the collaboration!! I know I got talents, but I lack the courage, faith and obedience. This is where I got stumbled (and humbled). I can't tell you how many times I pitched my story w/ my sketch book, but it's just as good as pitching.

The message I left you was pretty much my intro.

I read the synopsis of the Lightweightz. I like the character designs. I want to see more of the story development. I think the character names have left us some hint....yet to see.

I am to see God's leading and calling all the Christian artists  together for His purposes. It's something I have been dying to do yet it would be a BIG lesson for me in person, with others, in technique and in spirit.

  • Hey Ruth,

Way to raise the standard with the intros, lol! By the way, did u get my FB message? I saw some of the message you left when you sent me a friend request but not all of it. What did you think about the idea behind Lightweightz? Are you still interested in collaborating on something in the future?

Since I'm on deck, here's my brief intro:

I've been into comics on and off since elementary school. Although I've considered the idea of putting out my own comics for years, I finally decided in May of 2009 to start making it happen, and trust God in the process. Then came "R-Squared Comicz" and "Lightweightz."

The purpose of R-Squared Comicz is to produce comics that tell stories with a Christian-theme, and that appeal to Christians and non-Christians. My first comic, "Lightweightz," focuses on teens with unique abilities that are interpersonal in nature(i.e., the abilities help the teens understand and relate to others better).

My goal is Lightweightz, and with the comics that will follow, is to highlight the importance of loving and understanding each other, and how we cannot glorify Christ without treating others the way He commanded us to. I want to focus on the relationship aspect of Christianity (e.g., how we cannot separate how we relate to God from how we relate to each other).

Another project I'm currently working on is the "Story of Peter," which is a collaboration with another artist and creator. It focuses on the life of the apostle Peter, highlighting the important events in his life, and trying to show them through his perspective.

I have some major goals for my projects this year (especially for Lightweightz), and I welcome and appreciate your prayers as I need them!

  • My bad. Geoff Strout is the one who started this group. Come one, Geoff, say something!! =)
  • Hello to Hannah and thanks to Justin to initiate this group.

I see that there are people from CA starting to join. Welcome. Why don't I start introducing myself here?

I am a all-time comic-artist wannabe. My friends all know about that. I can draw pretty well. But I got a lot of hick-ups in life and I am learning to live beyond them. There was a time that I was very close to God but I am a little away because I love the world as much......(This say enough about me).

But I know He is the Truth. Nothing can erase that.

My style is 80's-90's Anime style w/ a some western figure drawing from college. My stories revolve sex, adolescence, emotional changes within  females. I hope I can play up their controversies using my limited ESL English and how these intricate feelings w/in women (and men) are the very reflections of the images of God (Gen 1:27). Although mankind fall short of God's image, we cannot deny Him.

I have 2 main long stories going on. 1) The Tramp - A love story between a prostitute who did not trust love and a knight who is in search of the true meaning of life to win her heart.

    2) The End Time Knights - A group of young, proud exorcists joining together to cast out the demons and they are humbled by God during their missions.

To start, I will work on some short stories about everyday life incidents and my personal experience as a Christian woman in accordance to the modern day world.

Kinda vague...? I will say this much for now. Your turn!

  • Hello Hannah, thanks for joining, and I'm looking forward to reading your comic (starting now)!
  • Hello everyone, my name is Hannah! I am a Christian comic book artist writing and illustrating my fantasy web comic from Bakersfield California! Good luck and prayers to all artists out there using their God given talents. :)
  • Just sent out a few requests for folks to join. We'll see what happens...
  • Hello Ruth, I've been planning to reach out to other CCAS members from Cali to get this group going. Hopefully we can get this group going!
  • Hi, My name is Ruth. I live in San Francisco City (or of SF Bay Area). Although I have been a member of CCAS for a while, I never make use of it. Now I want to relight my lifelong passion in the new year. I want to collaborate with anyone local and Christian to look for support, practice and encouragement.....
  • California's representing, so let's get this group going!
