This was from my Advanced 2D class of last quarter...Really a letdown, despite the teacher calling my work portfolio-worthy...The entire class had to do the same project (meaning all our characters did essentially the same thing, had the same dialouge, execpt I re-recorded my own voices into it), even making our own characters was optional. Well you know how I hate not getting to control or somehow influence someone else's idea, so I grappled with a tankload of apathy and lethargy getting in the way of me finishing this. The teacher had gotten quite tired of students either not knowing enough when they took the course, or finding all sorts of ways to fail the assignment going above and beyond the call of duty. So he tried to make it as foolproof as possible, even giving leeway for issues regarding mass and detail, which is the only reason I passed. I still got the dialouge wrong in regards to the motion dynamics and not putting the characters in extreme-close up ie just their faces...I'm not wanting to drop animating altogether, but I don't think I could pick this one back up again without starting compleately over...It really fealt a waste of my time even thought I got a lot of much needed lessions and recaps throughout the quarter. I did finally get over drawing light from this...As you noticed, it's hard to get the camera (especially if you're using a cheap or even a security camera as we have save for one panasonic) to pick up anything from a light box, but if using a china marker is too awkward, I've discovered the aquauralle Aquamonolith watercolor pencils are a fine alternative! Doesn't smudge, barely erases, and you can sharpen it with a normal sharpener!
