Speedsuit Powers Update - August 2009

Hey Everybody,It's been a long time since I've been on CCAS. There's been so much going on with work, church, missions and the book. I just returned from a two week missions trip to Ghana, West Africa (my 11th). It was an amazing experience. I also finished teaching a 13 week bible study on purpose. I hope to compile the information into some kind of booklet and other media formats. So needless to say, things have been busy. :-)Concerning my new book, Speedsuit Powers. I had wanted it to be complete in time for the 'Back to School' rush (since it is a teen fiction novel). However, there were some setbacks with a couple of deadlines - so it won't release in time. (Isn't it funny how things work out sometimes?) I was really upset about missing - what I considered to be - a crucial time, however my mind goes back to Proverbs 16:9 "A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps."I had originally wanted the book to come out in May. That God pushed to July. Then I hoped for August. (I began to realize that my own deadlines weren't too realistic considering everything else that's going on in my life.) Several people have also told me to make sure that there's enough time to promote the book BEFORE it's released, in order to build up some momentum. I've had about 15 people to read the story (from 7th grade to adult) and their feedback has been extremely positive! Even the publisher thinks the book has great potential to make a real impact among middle/high school students. God is good.So... Speedsuit Powers will be released in December 2009. And Sept-Nov will be used for some major PR. God is just awesome with the opportunities he's opened for the book. Thanks to all who've been encouraging me along the way. Every word counts.I've started to build out the website, www.speedsuitpowers.com. Feel free to take a look and share your initial thoughts. There's a lot that has to be added. Thanks,Allen Paul Weaver IIIauthor of Speedsuit Powers
