  • ...ok, I cooled off rather quickly...Well, if the Disney Channel itself could pull through with the barf they had when I got a glimpse of cable last year, I'm sure this has a fair chance. I really though it would be better for the demographic, that is these current generations need more of Yoshi's, and the other strongholds of African American artists, which the popular culture of the "now" severely lacks! For some reason with all the animated musicals, there is a huge empty space for animated movies about "music!" We could blame "Fantasia," both movies still make many hardcore animators of today going back to the 60's generation go to sleep, simply because Classical wasn't what they wanted to seriously associate cartoons to with the first one, and were repulsed by the classical music in the second. However the idea behind 'Fantasia' could work and also has proven to do so with other styles of music applied!
Even a move about a place like "Yoshi's" would be awesome for me. It would have tons of saxophones, which seems to be a dying instrument...and when the musical moments happened, which would usually be more literal (i.e. an animated band/solo, otherwise instrumental performance), there could be breaks for the movies artists/writers to slip in a surrealistic or narrative short of their own like Fantasia had in it's entirety...just as a wink for all artists! Ah, but I'm just dreamin' aint I?
