CHRISTIAN COMIC ARTS SOCIETY :: A NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP FOR COMICS FANS, PROS, AND AMATEURS

Greetings CCAS family! Jon of GraphicallyChristian.com here to update you on our latest creations, and site innovations. But first, I'd love to hear from some of you about how Alpha Omega Con went. Our site is proud to have been a sponsor of the event, and we hope to get our their next year to celebrate Christ and comics with you guys!

The growing GC team is happy to present our latest issue of Gauntlet Magazine: Banner Over Ashes. Focusing on the theme of "doubt and encouragement", the zine features uplifting poetry from friend and colleague Jessica Contreras, and introduces author Melissa Matos' high fantasy series GiftedWorld Without Water, which follows a Jersey tour boat captain dealing with seemingly random natural disasters, such as the sudden transparency of water, continues in Sowing Seeds in Sinking Sand.

The issue is FREE on GraphiclyChristian.com, but for those who want to read it "on the go", it is also available for purchase in our new eBook store! Issues #1 and #2 can be bought for $2.99 per eBook bundle, which includes that Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Fire, iOS, and Adobe Reader compatible files.

Hope to hear from readers old and new, and some stories from Alpha Omega Con! God Bless, everybody!

Jonathan Matos

  •   I traveled five hours one way to get to the Alpha Omega Con, and speaking as an amateur artist and fan, it was totally worth it.

Firstly, it was fun to put faces on some of the names and art that I've been enjoying on this site. Went to the workshops and talks, got some artists to look over my work and give me some pointers (thanks guys!)  There appeared to be plenty of volunteers and the organization of the event was smooth and competent.  There was plenty of diversity in tastes and styles under the CCAS umbrella, and I was glad to see a variety of venders and ministries represented in the gymnasium.

I was intrigued by the different audiences that attended the different workshops. I didn't see how many attended the Cosplay workshop, but I did sit in on about thirty aspiring writers and business idea-people discussing themes and directions in movies.  I went to several workshops about how to break into money-making animation or comics, from experienced pros on the inside. A ministry field dear to my heart: Digital amateurs, wasn't mentioned or covered but that merely means there will have to be a 2nd Alpha Omega Con so it can be. ( The online Deviant Art site claims 27 million members, that's a big ministry field!)

Organizers, venders and sponsors at this first A&O con have a right to be proud and thankful of this first event. Well done, brothers and sisters.
