Hi CCAS Siblings!
I got a few pages of art from one of my favorite artists, Larry Blake:) He draws 'The New Sons of Thunder' for me. The first page is an ad we want to run in Melchizidek's terrific "Faithland" web comic. It's got 'The New Sons of Thunder' website, but more importantly features an ad for "5 Star Comics", a terrific series of Golden Age flavored heroes by various artists and authors including Larry! I recommend "5 Star Comics" very much, and it's been getting nice reviews:)
Second is a cover for a story I wrote called 'The Perils of Princess', and the 3rd page is the introduction page for that story.
It's great fun writing 'The New Sons of Thunder', but it's not touching lives as far as I can tell. I'll probably keep it as a back project/hobby though. More importantly, I've asked Larry if he'll redraw my storyboards for Lee's 'Angel Lite Comics' story into a real comic fit for the web. I hope Larry feels led by God to help us in this project!

Hi Jim, I think Larry's art is great too:) It's funny, when I envisioned this series, I had a manga style in mind for it. But the Lord hooked me up with Larry Blake, who's style is very Western. And now, today, there is no one I'd rather have do the stories than Larry:) God is incredibly interesting, He seems to like surprising us doesn't He?
Thank you Martin, for the great editing you did on the script. "The Perils of Princess" promises to be the best 'The New Sons of Thunder' story yet, thanks largely to your help. I think when Christian comic creators are strapped for cash the first thing they cut is editors, and that is tragic. Editorial skills are a talent and a gift like writing and drawing, and not everyone can do it. It's sad to finish a comic and find out there are terrible errors. Do you know, when the first reviews for the early 'The New Sons of Thunder' stories came in, some people weren't sure if it was a Christian comic or if I was mocking Christians? Because I only move in Christian circles, everyone I showed the story to automatically assumed it was Christian. In the world out there, non-believers didn't know what to make of it. That's an example of what an editor/proofreader could have saved me from. You spotted a lot of weaknesses in the 'Princess' script that I hadn't considered, and went beyond the call and suggested some great alternatives. Thank you! I hope everyone will think twice about going to print without consulting an editor!
Melchizedek, thank you so much for the recommendations for places to place my book online for more exposure! I will look into that:) And thank you for agreeing to run my ad on your site, it means a lot because your books are first rate!
W.o.w. And I helped? That is a compelling opening shot.
Gerry, you should place it free on the digital sites I have my stuff on if you want to reach more people. Plus, don't get discourage if no one contacts you about reading your comic. i have felt the same way until I found links to my site on other's websites and positive reviews of my books from people who never even contacted me. Couple of my books was Book of the month on the Nook and I found out only by accident because of a search I did a while ago. You never really know sometimes who is being touched by your work. But anyways think about placing it on these sites Wowio, Drive Thru Comics, Graphicly, Scribd, Balloond and My digital comics.
