I first saw Mr. Hovind when I was in 9th grade. Very entertaining and educational, but at times even I deemed him an alarmist, especially pertaining to the "impending takeover of America." I also went to college with Marlissa and Andrew at TTU, and they were both great people.
The tax fraud scandal just seemed to sully the message he was trying to share, and the years of good work were marred by bad decisions. Even in 1994, he was telling us how he wasn't paying taxes because he had discarded his Social Security number. What seemed semi-strange at the time turned out to be indicative of a much larger issue, and I'm one of many who simply lost respect for a man who made his own bed, but claimed he didn't have to lie in it.
To be clear, this is NOT another Hovind-bashing blog, and I do NOT want it to become one. If you wanna dialogue, let's do it via PM. The rest of the family doesn't need this dredged up again here, and I'd rather respect that much. I am excited for your work to be published. Simple enough. Just wanted to say so. :)
Congradulations! The sample PDF looks great! Dinosaurs are so much fun, the art is very fitting, and I think kids will love it.
I've known the Hovinds for a long time, and while I'm not necessarily impressed with them of late, I am glad to see your work getting published! The great thing about hardcopy books is that they last so much longer than digital media. Some kid will grow up reading your book and spend a couple hundred bucks in 30 years on eBay trying to track down an original, just like he had when he was little. Keep it up!
