My son introduced me to a great web comic: Stand still. Stay Silent. by Minna Sundberg . The humor is quirky and charming, the theme is definitely new to me: Post-apocalypse epic journey from a Scandinavian point of view. The human values are insightful; but the art is what's really, really awesome. Wow.
Minna's productivity is equally amazing: 6 to 8 frames per page, one page a day, five days a week. Perhaps her choice of equipment might be a factor: "My "old" digital drawings are all done in Photoshop CS4, since mid-2013 I've migrated over to Manga Stdio 5, and nowadays I use a Wacom Cintiq 12WX tablet when I draw (before 2012 I used a Wacom Intuos 3, the kind of tablet that doesn't have a built in monitor.) Oh, and when I'm away from home I do my drawing on my Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T, which is like a portable Cintiq. (I highly recommend it, by the way )", or the fact that she's been cranking out regular webcomics for the last three(?) years.
Google up Stand Still. Stay Silent. and check out how the weather draws you in and holds you to the plot. Minna is brilliant in her use of negative space to create shape and feel for objects and scenery. Check it out.
