Cartoon Drawings

I am about to go back to figure drawing, as well as a painting class. So, really, I should be reviewing anatomy and things like that. But what I did instead was check out 30 comic book collections from the library and am drawing pictures from there. :) Working with charcoal is a great way to learn anatomy, but after months of it, I really love working with my Prismacolor colored pencils.

  • I think this an excellent way to sharpen your drawing skills and broaden your range as an artist. Yes, learn anatomy and painting skills, but learning from artists you admire is also essential. i can see the influence of all my favorite artists in my on art.

  • Drawing pictures from other comics is how I learned to draw! I really like prismacolor too, but I (Funnily enough,) like crayola. Good luck with your classes!! :)
