CHRISTIAN COMIC ARTS SOCIETY :: A NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP FOR COMICS FANS, PROS, AND AMATEURS
CCAS and Chrisian Fellowship on Facebook. The idea is to get as many artists, writers and creators to collaborate or a least submit a page or three of their Christian character fighting someones else Christian character. My initial title is Christian Heroes Throw Down. The premise is a bit comical and the pages I'm going to post have some humor, but it can be serious and the purpose is to be able to showcase your characters and someones else character. Some guidelines would be 1. Max 3 pges. If you can do it in 1 or 2 pages great. But this isn't something to spend forever on since we all have busy schedules. 3 pages is enough , but remember not to try to have like 8 panels each page. That's too much and for you writers I think artists would be more inclined o illustrate your idea if it is a small workload. 2, Your character has to lose. That is where the fan art and supporting the other person's character comes into play. It is humbling and giving. But if you have a creator's character in mind you can do your throw down where your character lose and then the other creator can do his/her throw-down where  your character wins. Make contact, make new contacts. The first page or if it is one page, will have the websites and the characters names and the winner will have /his/her name and website on the last page. 3 Have fun with this.and keep it simple. My examples didn't take long for me to do. I even colored a page, but kept the coloring simple. The "throw down" doesn't have to be a physical fight. Also be  tasteful and respectful. No blood needs to be shown.
Facebook page to post the pages and we can place the pages on our websites. Reach out to other creators. Do a one page or 2 page throw down collaboration.. Artists don't over think or do something complicated. Writers don't overload the pages with panels.. Think of this like those 24 hour projects. Wham. Bam. I'm done. 3 pages max. Tell me what you think.

  • @ frank. google chat me. I will give you a tutorial on how to do it.

  • I see it like a good game of Super Street Fighter. In fact that is going to be my theme for my throw down. Which I hope to have finished in a day or so.

  • @david why not fight each other? its for fun and just a comic spoof. (its not like its real people fighting  each other). Also I am seeing this as a way to work out setting up a fight scene that works only for one page.

  • @David-Which 3?

  • that sounds cool which 3

  • @David-Because unknown forces.... Actually I just thought it would be a quick way to introduce your characters and show a little of what they can do in 3 pages or less. There's no deep story or anything. Just a basic throw down.

  • nice art work but why are we fighting against ourselves

  • Hey MelkzT: Blessings...Love this idea for a collab by CCAS peeps...Question? Did u set up the FB page? I'm not really a panel layout artist (atleast, never tried) but stared working on a full page spread (penciling it as we speak) featuring several CCAS members characters. How would I scan a comic book art board if my scanner is only a desktop printer/scanner? I also have a portable scanner (magic wand) that u roll across the page but its still not long enough...Blessings.
