A Little About Jackket Knightmare

Hi everyone,I want to thank you for the support and interest you have shown in Velvet Nightmare Studios. As you decided to be part of this page you should know some things about this ministry.

This page is to promote a graphic novel coming out soon. Five years ago I began drawing when God lead me to christianscomics.net where I found a lot of brothers and sisters in Christ that wanted to use comic books as a tool for ministry. They encouraged me as I began to learn about both mangas, and American comics.
Three years ago God gave me this incredible story, and told me to see it to it's completion.

The story of Jackket Knightmare begins with a Hispanic character named,Tomàs who was physically abused as a child by his father. Later in the story God delivers him from the deadly situation through a Pastor named David Church. While the story is about Tomàs struggle with his adopted father's sudden death it is about his journey to forgive his father and pursue his call to be Pastor.

Now this is a comic book so to make the story more interesting, as Tomàs begins to piece together what happened one night to him as child he starts going through a physical transformation at night. He changes into Jackket Knightmare though he is unaware of it, but this is strictly a God given ability(I got tired of satan giving heroes their powers in secular comics). Jackket is a character that rescues children from abusive situations, but he doesn't stop there he also through another ability makes the abuser see himself as a child and gives him a chance to stop the cycle and change his life through Christ. There is also a demonic character that he encounters as he ministers to these people. The real message of the story it about broken people being made whole through Christ, and that is my hope for those who will one day pick up a copy and read it or visit the site.

My prayer is that I will continue to gain support from my brother's and sisters in Christ, and that I have direction from God as I finish the first chapter of this project.
God Bless,
Souba

  • Wow. No other words except I LOVE the "God-given ability" and that you were tired of Satan always giving out powers. Amen! :D
  • Now that sounds like a splendid story! I'd caught glimpses of your artwork for this story character, but didn't know what he was all about. Actually, I was kind of intimidated by his grim appearance, but it sounds like he puts that effect to the Lord's work! I'll definitely be watching the message boards over at CC.net and around here for more news on your project.

May the Holy Spirit give you the guidance and inspiration you desire to do this good work for God's glory!

    Gerry
