In Chip Ingram's "How To Find Your Dream Job" series (I think that was the one), he stated his belief that our work would contine in Heaven only with the curse on working removed so it'd be more enjoyable I hope. This made me wonder, I have the same drive for many talents; but I'm afraid I won't have time to master all of them so I can actually produce something with them. So I wonder if I'm not given the time here on earth, would God grant me the chance to fufill these unused skills in heaven? All the music that has tormented me since It would play in my head for a moment then dissappear before I could learn to write it down and/or perform it-would God give them back to me to play for Him in His Kingdom? If my hope in this could be verfied by more than just good ol' Chip; my outlook on life would be much more optimistic than it is now!
We don't need extended time, just effective time management. If you are college age, you could dedicate up to a year of your spare time to each talent and interest, and still have time to spare.
Describing Heaven has sparked endless debates. The only thing that counts is that we will have perfect fellowship with God, all barriers removed. Nothing could make us happier.
Actually there is some evidence of animals in heaven...horses mostly...but I don't know if they'll be the same thing or a creation God has yet to show us...
I remember a long time ago taking a car trip with some Christian sisters who were escorting an old woman to have her favorite cat put down... when she asked "will I see my cat again in Heaven?" they assured her she would, and they all took comfort in that conversation... later, I asked my Christian sisters if they had any Biblical reason for stating that, and they told me, "no, the Bible doesn't say anything really one way or the other - but it comforted the old woman, so what was the harm?"
I try to keep that moment of clarity in mind for such conversations...
Hey Uncharted,
just to let you know, it won't matter what we think will happen here on this planet, but I can tell you with all assurance and fact that God won't disappoint you and you won't be disappointed either. God has a place for you.

Uncharted,
It's possible that when we graduate to heaven it will be like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. The butterfly probably isn't to concerned about his former existense because he is enjoying the heavenly freedom of his new life. Having said that I do think we will have things to do and those things may be in line with what He has given us )the talents to use on this Earth). That is my guess with a little bit of scriptural backing.
That's an interesting idea and I wouldn't say it's totally unrealistic. God created us with these desires and talents. The Bible never says we'll lose our individualities when we go to Heaven (& the New Earth) - that's what makes us special and our worship precious. Everything we do is an expression of worship (whether it be for God or otherwise) - so when it says we'll all worship God, I don't think that means we all have to stand with hymnals and sing songs. There are a zillion ways to worship God and, I have a feeling, we're going to discover them all.
That's an interesting thought. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is a God of hope. The Son of God is a Living Hope. So how can we, as believers, be a people without hope? And why can we not hope for things such as this? Think about it this way... if your music or art is a gift from God, then why would that gift not be made even greater in heaven? If we use those gifts to glorify God here on this earth, think of how much more we could use them in heaven to do the same!
