CHRISTIAN COMIC ARTS SOCIETY :: A NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP FOR COMICS FANS, PROS, AND AMATEURS

Ads used to support this site...

Why does when I view my page, a Christian fellowship group, is it supported by "Find sexy women" and "PIMP your profile" type advertisements? Come on, isn't that ironic?

Jesus Christ went into cities such as Jerusalem and taught there. When night came he always retreated to the outskirts of town to sleep as to not be associated with the evils of the cities...the temptations and appearences of evil.

  • Thanks for that.
  • Brent- I share your concern about these Google AdSense adverts which are meant to match ads to a site's content and generate income whenever users click on them. Our COMIX35 ministry website is hosted by Gospelcom.net and this issue was discussed by some of the alliance members. One of them summed it up best, I think, when he wrote, "We ran an experiment a while back on our site. Google's contextual analysis is very good, but there are some downsides: It ended up being a non-starter for us because the ads could sometimes be counter-message to the content. For example, pro-life content would sometimes get pro-choice and abortion-center ads on it. Since this would at best confuse a visitor, and at worst lead to an abortion, we deemed the extra revenue wouldn't be worth the potential harm to our ministry." - Nate
