I remember all the way before taking this class, I really wanted to do something military related so it matches a theme in House of heros, since the album I listen to without end is The End is Not the End. HoH has stated that The end is not the end, had heavy research of the WWII period. So this military guy kind of represents the album. I really wanted to choose a piece that wasn't just a random military guy, but something with a HoH spark to it. This guy really gave me that feel. He look he was in the military, he has this spunk of HOh, and he almost reminded me of Tim Skipper for some odd reason.

I do not remember what I wanted to name this piece. I just combined all the album names together XD.

To the second part. Working with acrylics, not too bad. Though the thing was the prep work. I have forgotten how long preping the canvas takes, and this type of paper, eats up paint. I first taped the surface to the wall. Then I also taped tracing paper to the bottom too. This will catch any fallen paint, so it won't get into my carpeting. And now I primed the surface with Gesso. It really ate the half of the bottle. Then I even add more to the surface by putting a color of acrylic paint (not gesso acrylic), of blue and brown to make that black you see on that surface. After a few layers, I let it dry, and then I drew the picture out in white pastel. Soon as that was done, I painted the guy first, because of the assignment was to paint a life size figure, and so the background is not important. The trouble really lied on the pants, where painting the paterns stumped me a bit. I took alot of time to get those colors on, but it worked out in the end. I was pushing myself to go fast since it was the last minute I was doing this painting. Once the figure was done, I paint the blue in, then the rest of the background. Like I said, background not important, so, I really went quick on that. Using the side of the gesso brush, I made the bush texture, and pretty much that was it.
