Spanish Names

Thank you for the interest, Tom. I have several compelling reasons to get excited about 1800's California:

1 ) The Monterrey Bay area is in many ways grounded in the 1800's. The four Spanish missions in this area are still operational churches;many of our town and street names are Spanish and run the same routes that were laid out by the Spanish. San Juan Bautista is a town that has aged so little in 200 years, its almost like a a working theme park.

2) Due to a century of Mexican/Latin American immigration, Latinos are a majority in our area. The public high school where I teach is 40% migrant, 80% Latino; close to the % of most of the neighboring schools.

3) I love horses, the rural country, gallantry and the impact of Christians on the world; 1800's California has all of that in large bucket-fulls.

Hey Brien, as a person of shorter stature myself, I appreciate the creation of "Fearless"! . . . interesting mix of history and animal people you've got here. You are casting a unique vision. What is it about 1800's California intrigues you?
