Thanks for your concern brothers. My marriage is strong, as are the marriages of my parents and in-laws. The pent-up emotion in this picture comes from 28years of public school teaching, 38+ if you count in my wife's experience. Over half of our students come from broken homes. Its rare to have a student crying about their home life, they soldier on quietly with dry eyes and flat expressions. The grades gradually sink, they loose ambition and settle for getting by...because they're raising themselves. Aurgh!!!
This picture conveys so much emotion it's almost hard to look at. Like Dan, I wonder if the depth of emotion and the obvious insight you have, Brien, into the feeling of estrangement and contemplation of a sundering isn't real. I hope not, I got a chill when I saw the dog looking at the knife. I will pray for you now, just in case. God give you peace and healing, to you and all in your life.
If you're trying to comment of the strains of marriage and the choices one faces then well done. If this art is expressing your personal dilema then let me say this... Eph 6. Meditate and pray on that chapter. God Bless.
