  • Thank you so much for the lil' inking lecture; I majorly appreciate it! I think want gets me mixed up is knowing the correct direction to hatch. I think what I'm learn is how to show correct lighting through inking, but like you said I need to keep pushing myself. Thanks again, Jeff!

  • I don't know if this will help or not but here goes. Try to think of the face like a sculpture. And for each various plane on the face, or any object for that matter, try to think of which direction the lines or hatching you are about to ink in should go and will best describe that particular plane. Is it receding or is it coming towards the reader, such as a nose. What line treatment would best describe that shape? Sometimes it's best just to keep it simple. Say more with less. You just have to find your own rhythm. And you will find it. Just keep pushing yourself. And study the works of others to see how they cracked the "inking code". Okay, thus endeth the lecture.
  • Your very welcome, Jeff!!! Want I like especially is how you handle your hatching on Thor's face. I find it usually challenging to hatch a face without over working it. I guess I just need to practice more often. :)
  • Thank you Elena. You're kind to say so.
  • LOVE IT!!! :)
