I'm happy to let everyone know:
SILVERLINE’S “KAYLESS” NOMINATED FOR REALM AWARD!
Kayless, the sci-fi comic created by Brent Larson with artist Luis Czernowski and colorist Leandro Huergo, is a semi-finalist for a 2026 Realm Award.
The Realms are faith-based awards from the Realm Makers, an organization established in 2012 to support independent faith-based creative work. The awards focus on Fantasy, Science Fiction, Supernatural, Paranormal, Horror, and cross-genre material in different formats – novels, short stories and comics.
Kayless is the story of Scott Anders an astronaut for the CIA who disappeared in 1967, and has now returned to Earth, Larson explained. “The multi-part storyline is about how he copes, where his new powers came from, and who’s after him.”
“I heard about the Realms from a friend of mine,” Larson said. “So I entered. Just like that. And now here I am a semi-finalist. We’re all pleased.” Artist Czernowski is based in Argentina, and “since this is the modern era, we’ve never actually met,” Larson added. The creative team is putting the finishing touches on the next issue. “Luis continues to elevate my work,” Larson said.
“We don’t publish for awards,” said CEO/Founder and Editor-In-Chief Roland Mann. “But it sure is nice to see one of the titles acknowledged. Brent and the team do a great job on Kayless.”
Back issues of Kayless are available through The Silverline Summer Spectacular Sale is on at https://www.fundmycomic.com/campaign/995/operational. The sale will last through early August.
Silverline’s current comics are crowdfunded, and also distributed traditionally to comic retailers by PhilBo Distribution.
