Recently, I've had some Christians quote Philipians 4: 8 to me when I discuss the comic book medium and its value in evangelism or Christian entertainment. "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." While I see it's value in our growth as Christians, I don't see where it applies to the comic book medium. Any comments?

  • Hi Mike. As I understand it, the point is that whatever we do, whether it's comics or anything else, we need to keep it true, honest, just, pure, lovely of good report, virtuous and praising GOD. In short, whatever comics you do, make sure they're done in a spirit of purity and honesty etc. Keep 'em clean and free of worldly negativity. Hope that goes some way toward answering your question. GOD bless

  • So, if I’m understanding your question correctly, you don’t see how this scripture pertains to the comic book medium? Which exactly are you referring to when you said you see the value in our growth as Christians...the scripture or comics?
