My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)

Before knowing Christ I lived a very secular life. Not wealthy but comfortable. I tried all the typical things that the western world had to offer, searching for a purpose (didn't realise that that was what I was doing until I got saved). A believer brother, longtime school friend, invited me to the discipleship class he was teaching, and in the first two sessions I went to, he said one phrase which I believe was the beginning of the transforming work of God in me: "The Bible is story of God's love relationship with man until now". At the time it seemed like a very obscure phrase, but it amazingly tied together a lot of things that I was going through over the past 8-20 years, and was the start of my realising that there was an actual purpose for all things, including me! Now, I can say that my experience of life now with Christ is one of freedom, not of fear and bondage; my financial and material comfort circumstances have not changed for the better or the worse, but my living in them is deliciously light, and bright, fear of death is gone; overcome the torment of guilt and shame, and I have a constant uplifting hope of presence with my Lord for eternity. In a word: LIBERTY!
