Science Fiction Resources for Writing

Hi guys, my teacher found out a good resource for learning how to write from believe it or not- a scifi site! Actually these links are very informative and apply to all genres. It helps you find the weaknesses in your stories and gives some good insight on character development, and breakdowns a huge list of terminolgy (easy and a bit humoruous) to make organizing your plot development and twists down to your very scenes rather silmple! So here:http://www.sfwa.org/writing/turkeycity.htmlhttp://www.sfwa.org/writing/glossary.htmlhttp://www.sfwa.org/writing/character.htmThere's probably a lot of other goodies to find in this site and I encourage to take a peek when you have the time. Here's a samle of what you'll learn from their stuff: These are the top two mistakes I think webcomic writers make:#Card Tricks in the DarkElaborately contrived plot which arrives at (a) the punchline of a private joke no reader will get or (b) the display of some bit of learned trivia relevant only to the author. This stunt may be intensely ingenious, and very gratifying to the author, but it serves no visible fictional purpose. (Attr. Tim Powers)#Idiot PlotA plot which functions only because all the characters involved are idiots. They behave in a way that suits the author's convenience, rather than through any rational motivation of their own. (Attr. James Blish)Have fun!
