CHRISTIAN COMIC ARTS SOCIETY :: A NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP FOR COMICS FANS, PROS, AND AMATEURS

Sorry I haven’t posted more discussions. I haven’t been writing as much and I’m getting used to Medibang Paint. Anyway, I’m working on the history of Irregulars and how their powers work (explaination that the readers most likely won’t see but is more for my reference, how they’re inherited, different types, etc.) I’m also thinking about making Dalton a mind reader (so there’s one point of view character representing  each “type”of ability), but am having trouble figuring out how to work it into the case without making it obvious who the killer is. If you have any suggestions (or even ideas for another power in the “mental” category he could have), that would be great. I’ve been trying to come up with some more unique powers. Anyway, here’s what I’m working on:

History of Irregulars:

In the late 1970s Dr. Marius Bain and his wife Annette had just moved to New Eden from New York City. Dr. Bain had taken a job at an asylum on the south side of the city. One of his patients claimed she’d been “stuck in the head” of the last person she’d looked directly in the eyes of.

Type A: Mental

Examples:

Telekinesis
Mind reading
Heightened Empathy
Selective Extrasensory Healing (SESH)

Generally appears between the ages of 6-9

Type B: Nature

Examples:

Shapeshifting
Nature control
Healing

Varies depending on ability

Type C: Time/Space

Examples:

Body Snatching
Time Control
Time Travel
Teleportation

Generally appears during puberty

Some abilities have certain “bonus” traits associated with them (for example: mind readers tend to be extremely observant and have high I.Q.s).

This is is a work in progress and I’d love to hear your suggestions, especially for the short AND long-term physical, mental, and emotional repercussions of irregular abilities, different powers I could add to each type, different ability types, and how to work superhuman abilities into cases without making the cases too obvious. (The two I’m having the biggest problem incorporating are Brianna’s shapeshifting and Dalton’s mind reading, and removing these, particularly the former, would completely change my entire vision for the series).

  • This is an awesome list! Good job with the layout! It sounds really cool, and I like how each have different conditions for how they work.
