CHRISTIAN COMIC ARTS SOCIETY :: A NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP FOR COMICS FANS, PROS, AND AMATEURS

Will we soon be banned from Comic Cons?

The major subject in America right now is the Supreme Court's act of legalizing same sex marriages in this country and there are Christian leaders who warn that tougher times are ahead for Christians living in the United States. Since engaging in a homosexual lifestyle is deemed sinful by God, as is specified in the Holy Bible, Christians across the country are refusing to support this act of Congress. However by doing so they may soon find themselves viewed by many citizens as members of a "hate group". Such a label could hurt the businesses and organizations that are affiliated with Christianity. It could also lead to wrongful discrimination and even persecution of Christians in this country.

And what of the Christian Comic Arts Society and other Christian comic book organizations? Will the next Wonder con or San Diego Comic con open their doors to them and allow them to sell the work they sponsor or will they be denied access to these events the instant the word "Christian" is seen on their booth display? As a resident of Kansas I've been planning to one day to display and sell my work at the Planet Comicon in Kansas City, but since I'm a Christian and much of my work supports Christianity I wonder if I'll even be allowed to "get my foot through the door". I'll still produce and sell my comic book work whether or not Planet Comicon grants me access to their event. Still, I wonder if Christian comic book booths being given space at secular comic cons will soon come to an end.

  • 1 no one is going to banned christians from cons 2 hateing gay people is stupid since God loves all his kids and even if you disagree with what someone does it doesn't make it sinful 3 no one really knows for sure if God made the bible since back then there wasn't pens or paper  4 why would gay people being happy mean hard times?

  • That's a good question and it is a possibility, going by some examples I've heard of in Canada. That might be a plus for us, however. Remember Christianity had to operate underground in the beginning and our Lord's message spread like wildfire, especially among the law enforcement community of the day, who had to memorize scripture to infiltrate meetings of Christians and became believers themselves. This could be a Godsend, if you'll pardon the expression, so keep working and praying.

  • Not sure. Some anime conventions have church services and allow Christian voice actors to be guest stars (hearing Caitlin Glass, Christina Vee, and Ayu (not sure of her last name) talking about their Christian beliefs was the highlight of Evillecon 2015 for me).
  • My Brothers and Sisters, We must stay bold and pray with word of God because All Scriptures of word of God might be fulfilled by Inspiration of Holy God, This is a Fallen World, the Time for Great Coming, Left Behind, The Great Awakens, The Wrath of God, 7th Years of Darkness... Trust the word of God...

2Not to allow your minds to be quickly unsettled or disturbed or kept excited or alarmed, whether it be by some [pretended] revelation of [the] Spirit or by word or by letter [alleged to be] from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has [already] arrived and is here.

3Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition), 1 Thessalonian 2:3

15If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.

16And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever--

17The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.

18I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you. John 14:15-17
