I am being reminded of how important it is that we who are God’s creative people seek the presence of God….daily. I am also being reminded of how hard it is to stick to seeking God’s presence daily.WHY IS IT SO HARD TO STICK TO?Because anything that takes you to another level doesn’t come easy. It requires a certain level of self discipline and a certain level of commitment.Look at similar things that take us to another level. Things that are hard to stick to, but produce significant rewards:- Fitness training or weight loss- Most Americans need it and want it but it’s only a few that gain it because they are committed to the actions it takes to maintain it.
- Reducing personal debt- Most Americans need it and want it but it’s only a few that gain it because they are committed to the actions it takes to maintain it.
SO WHY THE BIG FOCUS ON ARTISTS? ISN'T IT HARD FOR EVERY CHRISTIAN?Yes, but why is it so important that you as an artist or designer seek God’s presence daily?Artists are communicators, and a Christian artist or designer can be the mouthpiece of God. But the mouthpiece of God must be able to hear the mind of Godin order to effectively carry out God's plan for your creativity. Building your relationship with God daily helps to familiarize yourself with God's voice over the voice of others...even your own.DOES IT REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE?I’ll let you answer that by answering this: You can tell when you need something important especially based on how you feel when it’s missing. Now, this may not apply to everyone, but do you dread the thought of being out of daily fellowship with God? Although you can create great looking work, does the thought of not including God in the process bother you?If you are an artist or designer that craves the presence of God (whether you stick to seeking Him daily or not), I'm almost certain you have found that maintaining intimate time with Him is critical.Look at it this way:You hunger when you feel the lack of food..
You thirst when you feel dehydrated.
You feel the void when you go without spending time with God daily. It just doesn’t set well with you.
SO, HOW DO WE FIX THIS?Check out our next post and we'll discuss some ideas that work.In the meantime, share your thoughts on the topic:
