Webcomic character design

A web comic lesson on character development.

Just finished the first chapter of online comic Widdershins by Kate Ashwin (http://www.widdershinscomic.com/wdshn/sleight-of-hand-cover/) The strip has many storytelling strengths, chief of which is delightful character design. The characters are witty, conniving, odd rambunctious and altogether interesting.   They take basic chase story and make it magical.

Not every good story has to have witty verbiage or slightly bizarre characters, but Widdershins demonstrates the fascination created by adding unusual and personable details to main characters.
