The religious landscape of my series

I’ve been thinking about how to explore the religious landscape of the fictional country my characters live in while still presenting Christianity as the one true faith. I don’t know much about New Eden’s history yet. I do know New Eden wasn’t a nation until 1970 and the island was very isolated until the late 1900s-early 1920s (haven’t decided yet), so it’s unlikely Christianity was the dominant religion until then. The Island was split into two nations during WWII. One half sided with America and the other with Japan. I’m not sure where it’s geographically located or if there are other island nations nearby. I know it’s located somewhere in the Pacific Ocean somewhat far north of the equator (likely somewhere between the Northwest America/Canada border and Japan). There was a huge influx of immigrants during the late 80’s and 90’s. What do you guys think would be the best approach?

Also, I hope to read a book that will help with the scientific side of the story soon.
