The God I believe in is Love not Hate

I have seen alot of christians seen to hate or think being gay is sinful but why? if two people is in love and happy isn't that a good thing why look down on them? so their different  so was Jesus ,  no one really knows for sure if God made the bible since back then there wasn't pens or paper  and pretty sure there wasn't iphones :p yet people put so much trust in it even if he did made it at the end of the day its still just a book nothing more and you shouldn't let a book make you hate or look down on someone who is different also  if we go by the bible it says ( For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life ) see  whoever meaning it can be a gay person too so please try and be more open minded & more love

  • Nicely put. I do hate how it comes off to our modern culture the rules from the Bible, as it sounds very crude and judgemental from a humanistic standpoint. "Why follow a God that tells me I'm wrong but you're right?" "Why worship a God who tells me that love is wrong?" This is how powerful the Enemy has become.

    How can you describe to someone the undeniable love that flows from this King? That what we confuse with "love" is actually brotherhood defiled by freshly temptation--instigated by an unseen Foe--which leads us to an self-hating existence? That sounds very hypocritical and unjust spoken by an equally flawed and sinful human. Then that leads one to imagine that this God is either man-like or man-made.

    But there is something here. While He is a parent and does NOT approve, nor allow, a lot of things we think are customary, he had to step down from Heaven to get some things straight as Jesus. He doesn't want to spoil our good time; he wants to show us what good truly means!

    Satan adores switching the role on us by placing blame on us. He, in fact, receives replenishment every time sin has us believing we have no worth. He gains whenever I read: "Whoa, God hates me because I eat too many pecan sandies" or "God hates me because I don't say his name often enough" or "I'm going to a place with a horned guy who rebelled against this God because he was, like me,... 'different?'" This would push anyone into depression and rage!

    But you won't find the answer in one scripture. That's why he calls himself the Living God. Its deeper than the Enemy wants us to know. You cannot accept Christ without accepting the whole Word or God (same visa versa), As Christ said that he came to fulfill it and not change it. He knows we aren't perfect nor does he need us to be. He does want us to confess our sins that we may be able to accept him.

    But how can you help someone to see the invisible? I laugh at myself while I say "you can't." God is a passionate god and he works individually. It comes down to that good ol' fashion faith. ;)

    Knowing Jesus Christ personally as Lord and Saviour, knowing His love firsthand by the indwelling power and presence of the Holy Spirit, is the kind of life that God would have everyone enjoy---and joy is the right word!  There is no greater pleasure than to be in right relationship with God, to know that your sins are forgiven and blotted out, and that there is no commandment that He gives to His children that He does not also give the power to fulfill by the Holy Spirit---to His praise and glory, because, as you shared earlier, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  I write this for anyone who happens to be reading, especially those who do not know God personally---because they can, and it doesn't take twelve steps or any magic formula---just one step:  in humility and with an open heart to receive His glorious gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.  God will do the rest!

  • Saying that one is homosexual, bisexual, heterosexual, etc. can be narrowing oneself down to a category. There are many reasons why God has a problem with us defining ourselves to a category by sexual preference when there is so much more that he sees in us and to our character than sexuality. That goes for heterosexual relationships as well. We define ourselves by sex and sexual preferences.

    That's my opinion, but don't take that as Biblical doctrine.;)

    But the Bible also states God's hate for gluttony, thievery, lying, murder, etc. We all have done something against him, but we've been forgiven through Christ and have been made new. The problem comes in that if we are prideful of these matters and uphold them.

    I agree that there are many Christian groups who have ignored the Word and have attacked the homosexual community. The Word especially speaks heavily against people who do such acts.God does not approve of homosexuality because there are physical problems to it like any sexual immorality in nature, but he hates worse those who throw stones. Christians who act out according to hate are not following the principles of the Word or reflecting God's desire and they are following the Enemy. Though we are called to stand firm on his principles, that also calls us to love and not judge one another on our own accord.

    As for me, I do not intent to sound like a hater or anything. It is only through God that I could truly love anything at all. :) God loves all of us, but he does not approve of the things that could harm us: that goes for many things than just homosexuality.

    Physical practice for same-sex intercourse is, by nature, physically unnatural and could cause harm... the same goes for any unnatural sexual intercourse practice for a heterosexual union. But it's certainly not out of hate that the Word speaks against the act of homosexuality.

    I used to think the Bible was written by man and God meant something different than I had read. I found out that I was both right and wrong (wow the confusion!). Satan was twisting the context of the words I read and helped push me down so I would not read further or do proper investigation to my questions. That's why there had to be Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I encourage you to research the Word for yourself or look it up on got questions.org.
