I'd thrown this out in a blog post a couple weeks back, but now have compiled some more detailing info I thought I'd share with the group.
Part of my marketing and sales strategy for the release of the fourth book in the Eye witness series (Unknown God), is to personally get in front of more potential purchasers. I'll be attempting to do so by adding a mix of Christian themed music festivals to my travel plans of comic conventions and book/comic store signings.
These shows boast attendence of 40-100k people...a majority of whom are teens, and I'd venture an educated guess that the majority are also Christian. For many of us, this is the heart of our prime demographic.
So here’s a list of the festivals I’ve come up with (may of which I plan on exhibiting at), their dates, their locations and a website for you to get more info:
Cornerstone Festival 6/28-7/3 Bushnell, IL
http://www.cornerstonefestival.com/
Sonshine Festival 7/14-7/17 Wilmar, MN
http://www.sonshinefestival.com/schedule/
Creation Northeast 6/30-7/3 Mt. Union, PA
http://www.creationfest.com/ne/
Creation Northwest 7/21-7/24 Enumclaw, WA
http://www.creationfest.com/nw/
Lifelight 9/3-9/5 Sioux Falls, SD
http://www.lifelight.org/festival
and just for good message:
Christian Community Fair 11/12-11/13 Twin Cities
http://www.christianfair.com/pages/exhibitor_opportunities.html
…and here’s some more I hadn’t did my homework on yet, since they didn’t fit into my personal itinerary.
Atlanta Festival, GA 6/16-19
Alive Festival, OH 6/23-26
Hills Alive Festival, SD 7/17-18
I hope I see some of my brothers and sisters in the CCAS at some of these events! And if you were possibly interested in sharing a space make sure to send me a message, 'cause my only reservation about these events are the times....most run their exhibit areas about 12 hours a day for 4 days and if I'm working these alone (which I will be on at least half) that will be long days manning the table and I'd love the company.

When I said "company" I meant "companions," as in fellow believers. Funny how words can be taken different ways. I didn't notice this until after the fact.
All the best to you and Daniel and whoever else you connect with there!

(FRI) You can upload a exhibitor booth application off the site for Cornerstone I referenced in the original posting to get all the skinny...to get ALL the info on the festival.
But booth space is $650 (with their table and chairs), adding a second booth is $400...since I don't know how much space you'd need for your display. In addition, you also pay cornerstone 25% of all your sales above $1500...which is paid at the show's conclusion.
I plan on driving up from Dallas for the event and will most likely be staying in one of the local motels (I'm too old for the camping out experience...which can be a money saver obviously).
Contact me by email if you're serious about pursuing this: headpresspublish@aol.com

It sounds like a good plan and I've always wanted to go to that festival- i have plenty of friends that go every year.
Let us know how this works out for you.

One day, should the Lord open the doors, I'd like to take part in the San Diego Con (even though all that mayhem at huge conventions is not what I personally enjoy). I'll probably be at the NY Comicon this October on a Saturday. A couple of years ago I was on the "Spiritual Themes in Comics" panel hosted by Buzz Dixon there, and wouldn't mind taking part in such again, should there be one.
Kind regards in Christ Jesus,
Alec
