Show Me Your Studio, Come Take A Peek At Mine

Tell me about what goes on in the place where your creativity is let loose.studio

Do you play music? What kind?

Like to use certain lighting? How bright?

Does your studio have an easel or drawing table?

Or is it like mine with the desktop computer and Wacom tablet?

What inspirations are on the wall?

Any toys on the desk top or easel?

Here’s a video clip and a few pics of my home office-turned art studio:

  • I'm very excited to have it. My wife set it up for me while I was gone for training for a month. With a small house and 4 kids it's hard to find somewhere to do any artwork. She wanted to give me some space. Now I just need to make the time to actually use it.
  • I've had one of those "Art Corners" before, Michael!

This is my "studio" My wife got me a drawing table and hung my artwork on the wall. She designated this corner of our room as my studio. I have only been able to use it briefly so far, with K-LOVE playing on the radio or Old Time Radio dramas on the mp3 player.

  • Thanks, R Jay-

..and you're right! I need to answer my own questions:

I usually play music from Pandora.com and pick a genre that matches the mood I'm in.
Usually if I'm working late in the night, the music is some mellow jazz.

One would expect me to say worship music maybe, but to be honest, I may have played that earlier in the day and actually away from the studio.

By the way, I cleaned up the junk in the studio before filming! The wife would have had a fit if I filmed my mess and posted it all over the web! :D

This is a great idea. A fun way to explore a bit about the creative process and the "tools" involved wether it be a digital whatever or art on the walls.

Your studio is so clean... What gives? Mine is a mess all the time...Haha! I like your wall color and LOVE the Vader. I also love that you took the effort and money to frame some of your own work. But you need to answer your own questions.

Count me in on this, I just need a little time.

  • I just remodeled my office. I just need a decently, quiet space to let God inspire me.
