sad message, kind offer

http://schwartzrock.blogspot.comFree Graphic Novelby Sherwin Schwartzrock"As you may be able to tell from recent posts, I've been rummaging through my office storage. I'm noticing I have 4 or 5 boxes of the ArmorQuest graphic novel I illustrated years ago (written by the brilliant Ben Avery). It's black and white at roughly 160 pages. I've given up all hope of making money off of these books, so if you would like a free copy, please send me an email request. Include your address of course and $2 to cover postage."

  • You're not the only one, Martin. I've had a few people email me privately asking how they can get these ARMORQUEST books. I'm not selling them! I thought I'd do Sherwin a favor by sharing the message that he's giving these books away free of charge, only asking for $2 postage per book.

I wish BAPTIST HERITAGE magazine would collect the two page testimony comics that Sherwin Schwartzrock and Jonathan Koelsch have done for them into a single volume. I regard these as their best Christian comics work, and with the clearest message of what Christ has done (and is doing) in many individuals' lives. They're also in full color.

    Kind regards in Christ Jesus,

    Alec Stevens
  • My Apologies - didn't understand that it was a quote. Apologies.

I thought the style was radically different. Your stuff is fantastic by the way. Keep up the good work. I'm also digging the graphic design your doing.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for your new book.
  • No, I didn't draw ARMORQUEST. That was drawn by Sherwin Schwartzrock and written by Ben Avery. I was quoting a blog post made by Sherwin. Apparently, he has several boxes of the books that he simply wants to get rid of, but rather than throw them away he wants to put them into the hands of those who'd truly like them.

All of my books---SADHU SUNDAR SINGH, E. J. PACE: CHRISTIAN CARTOONIST, Erlo Stegen & THE REVIVAL AMONG THE ZULUS, and GLORY TO GOD---continue to sell via the Calvary Comics website in various parts of the world. A fifth book has just been completed and will be available, God-willing, in spring 2010.
  • Holy guacamole - You did that book? I didn't put two and two together - I purchased your story about Sadhu Singh some time ago - and loved it. The styles are quite different. I loved Armor Quest as well.

Why not post it on your Calvary Comics website - or offer it to say Sunday Schools or the like? Is the 160 page graphic novel a complete story? Anyway, thought it was fantastic.

How would we send you the cover postage? (And if we actually wanted to BUY copies, how would you like that to work?)
