  • When you say "old West," you mean mid- to late-1800s and in such states as California, Arizona, New Mexico, etc.?

    Not sure if any of the major evangelists made their way westward in those days (D. L. Moody, George Whitfield, Charles Finney, and C. H. Spurgeon), but they might have. You might post your question at www.sermonindex.net I'm sure someone there would know.

  • I used "travelling preachers", and "circuit riders".
  • Did the google hunt. I didn't come up with very much. I guess there wasn't many records kept on this subject.
  • Oy Vey. Finding info about the old west in and of itself isn't too difficult - the traveling preacher part may be. Though do your google hunt and see what pops up - you might be surprised.
