As people of faith and as artists wanting to learn more about the art, is it okay to take life drawing courses (IE: Drawing naked people). Is it one of those "don't cause a brother to stumble" or "if it's not something that temps you, go for it"
Thoughts?

I don't think it is a necessity but it is able to bring great benefits for an artist to know human body more better. If you feel tempted to nude live model try to draw from a picture first.
I believe your love for art will overcome your lust, because your love for art are given by God but your lust are just your sinful flesh trying to be your master.
Let the holy spirit be your master and let your flesh be your servant. God Bless you bro.
Sven Jacobs - yes I am considering celibacy after just two sessions of the class. Never would I have thought (or even wanted to) that a "model" could more or less apply to just anyone.
I am learning, even after just two sessions. I'm kinda excited I'm actually learning how to make it all work and look good.
But truth be told as someone who took his share of life drawing classes in college, it's not something that ever seemed titalating to me...and I was easily titilated at that age (lol)! And if your serious about learning to draw the human figure, unfortunatly that will involve seeing them without covering.
I actually didn't think anyone would respond to this.
Thanks for the advice people. I think after hearing these replies I might check out some life drawing courses. I do want to be the best artist I can be for God, and more and more people are saying I need life drawing courses. So it looks like I might have to.
It is necessary for the study of the figure in 3 dimensional space to draw them robed and disrobed (though I don't display the latter drawings publicly for the sake of weaker brethren).
JUST SAYIN'.
