I came up with one more good case idea. In the case, a young woman is accused of stealing a rare gold treasure. It turns out there's a murder involved. In order to solve the case, the stolen item(s, which are underwater in Lake Tengoku (unbeknownst to the police). In order to find the treasure, Brianna turns into a fish and goes inside the lake. Any ideas?

As a matter of fact, the series takes place in a fictional country halfway between the US and Japan. There's influence from both countries around the characters.
