Milestone Creator Dwayne McDuffie Passes Away...

In case you haven't heard, Dwayne McDuffie, the creator of Milestone (which included the character Static) passed away on Monday night.

 

Now, the odd thing is, I can't say I have a lot of his comics, or know much about him in general - BUT I have always felt his voice or his legacy floating around comics. His voice was an important one for the field.To say the least, this is an unexpected turn of events, since he was in good health.

 

Apparently it was due to complications from surgery - please read the article for clarifications.

 

He is survived by his wife - please pray for her.

       there's only 4 comments on this?  McDuffie is a huge name.  I love how he left his mark with his creation of the Milestone universe.

    Dwayne was a very influential person in the Comic book Industry- especially for minorities. Icon was my favorite character. Thanks, My wife and I will pray for his family and friends.

    Wow, I'm going to this event for Reginald Hudlin tonight that Dwayne McDuffie was scheduled to be at. He was the guy I was looking forward to meeting the most. I just called the store and they said that they would remember him at 8pm. The event is free, if you are in LA come on out. It's a launch party for Reggie's world. Here is the info
