What a blessing to find this site :). I have been wanting to break into Faith based comics forever, but could never find anywhere, Deviant Art has be the closet thing i could find till now :)
About Me.
Name is Don, I'm 40, Up till 2 years ago my main career (If you can call it that) was the IT Feild (Computers).
Then the black days came, One of my twin girls Sophia got very sick with a brain tumor, So i had to stop working to stay home and for going to toronto for treatents. Long story short after a year long battle, she was called home to be with jesus. July 13th 2011 to be excat, so yes she has been gone for one year and 3 days. the last few days have been very rough around here :(.
Anyways, so yeah, the last couple years have been rough, I have always been into art and drawing like my father. But i found drawing to be stressful and frustrating, so last year i came across this device called a Cintiq (Fancy drawing tablet). aftering selling my mustang i bought one thinking it would help me get better at drawing. Well it didn't i got worst. So after i was colouring with my daughter one day i found colouring to be fun and relaxing.
So I switched gears and my new focus was on colouring, i colour with anything, prisma coloured pencils, markers, pastels and yes my Cintiq. :)
I just sighed a contract with a small comic publisher as a freelance colourist (Thank GOD), But i want to colour faith based comics, the stuff i do now is so full of half naked women and gross zombie stuff, I wanna colour bright and beautiful stuff :)
Anyways this has to be the longest into in history to i will end it with, thanks for providing an awesome spot for us christian comic artists to hang on at :) and

I'm happy to hear that God has given you an opportunity with a small comic publisher to use the gifts you have right now so that you can put them to use and keep growing in them~ And maybe, just maybe, you're there to bring a little faith into a faithless place~ You ARE the bright and beautiful stuff!!
But I am happy to hear that you are interested in working on faith-based comics! I pray that God opens doors for you to work on those sorts of things, but I also pray that in the meantime, he continues to use you to shine brightly right where you are!

I love colouring i find a piece in it, I pray GOD will find it in his will to allow me to colour more for him.

I can appreciate that you have a desire to use your art blessing for color bright and beautiful versus dark and objectifying. Thank you for being brave enough to take the first steps toward that direction.
Lets keep in touch. I like your colors and am inspired by the pieces on your DeviantArt page and the ones posted here on CCAS. I am still working on my colors (and have a LONG way to go).
