Ok, my God breathed story is called Astria Legends and a quick summary of it would be a galaxy where the "Angels" are living breathing colors (each one represents everything that color represents (good and bad). They fight SIN which in my world are also living breathing beings. It takes from the concept of hating the SIN and not the SINNER... I wanted something so you could visually separate the two. And in the middle are all those that dwell in the galaxy. TADA lol

PolishedWork1.jpg?width=600This is a picture I did with a quote from the first novel that was published (yeah...there are two novels published already though i'm rewriting one of them)

Below are some comic samples from the most recent attempt at a comic. I know I have a lot of work to do...I SUCK at backgrounds...

The Legend of Zelda game boy games concept art or any zelda concept art will be good.  I think that will be a very good reference for you.  Or Kingdom Hearts concept art.  Google this stuff and click images and a buch of cool art will come up that compliments your art style.

I guess its time for me to add to the art pot. Please let me know what you think :)

  • No probem.  If you are doing everything on computer then to make it easy for you just increase or decrease the thickness of the line in whatever program you use.  The things that are closer to the front you make the line thicker, as for the objects in the back the lines will be thinner.  Also, try to find a cartoon whose style is close to yours and see how they go about their inks.  Most likely it'll be a cartoon that you already like because our styles tend to go in that direction any way.  And use there lines as reference.  Reference is the key.  Go on youtube and look at some inking tutorials in the program that you use.  So if it's photoshop look up "photoshop cartoon inking tutorials,"  trust me they will have anything that you are looking for.

If you are doing the inking by hand which is what I normally do, then get a set of inking pens from the art store that have a variety of number sizes.  These pins normally come in a pack so you don't have to worry about what to get. The sizes in the pack range from .005 to 08.  8 being the thickest line.  Then it's just a matter of getting in the habit of seeing that your lines are smooth.  And then the same rules apply the closer it is the thicker the line.  When it comes to inking it can get really complicated, but just focus on the basics for now.  I can tell you have a feel for it already because of how you change the colors of the lines.

  • I could use a lot of practice in the lineart department. I just have no clue how to do it. ( tend to hide it with all the color) do you have any recommendations?

Good job.  Really colorful.  How do you feel about your work?  I would like to see how your art would look if you were to make the line weight thicker. I think it would compliment the beautiful colors you use. Not necessary though.   I love the color changes on the lines in the wings on the pic at the top.

  • Thank you so much! That means a lot
