  • Wow thanks guys! Your comments were really helpful. I will work on shadows and contrast...and no floating.
You think i could start a comic on angels? I was inspired by "Archangels" the comic when i was young but i have a different story line. Let me know if any of you are good at writing.
    God bless!
  • Nice looking piece! You’ve got a practiced hand and you’ve done a good job with a lot of the details. Good theme, clearly portrayed.

The angel and the prayer warrior both appear to float due to the whitish glow; that might be fine for the angel but Christians shouldn’t float… until the rapture. Darken the base around the Christian, maybe have him reflected or shadowed in the surface, in order to connect him to the ground.

Your composition has strong vertical lines and the figures are balanced. The feathers break this up somewhat which is good, a little motion and asymmetry attracts the eye.

I would like to see a greater contrast, light to dark. At this point all the hues in your center are pretty light in color.

Lighting can also carry a message; a shadowed face can reflect agony or sorrow, a lit face can project hope or grace.  If the shield threw a shadow across the Christian, it might create a feeling of protection.

Great composition and message in this piece.

  • I like it. The person praying seems a bit rigid, however and the shield could be in a bit closer to the person the angel's protecting, but all in all a really good job.

  • Cute! The angel's face does look a little angry, though. Love the manga-ish look! Keep up the good work! ;)
