CHRISTIAN COMIC ARTS SOCIETY :: A NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP FOR COMICS FANS, PROS, AND AMATEURS

So it's not on toilet paper, but check out the front/back cover http://www.crazygoodcomics.com/comics/PilgrimsProcessPreview.pdf

It's drawn entirely in crayons and then embelleshed digitally, with linework, some tone, and whatnot.  this'll be the first chapter, a convention exclusive, and FULL COLOR!

also- it is very inspired by of one of my favorite books, John Bunyan's the Pilgrim's Progress- but since i am reworking the story, i figured i would change the name to pay respect to the original work, without tarnishing it- so i went with the Pilgrim's Process.

  • Sorry - beat me to the punch in the approach to execution. Crayons as a method of producing a comic have been sitting on the back of the mind...maybe I'll try Pastels instead :)

I've always been curious as to why more comics aren't done in a variety of other media - I suppose it's the amount of labor that needs to go into it.
  • thanks Melchizedek! if you use it, it's a word! [and i think uniqueness is probably one, anyway!]

    Martin-
beat you to the punch- how so? If you were wanting to do a Pilgrim's Progress comic- do it!
Mine is going to definitely be a different take on the story. I think a straight up adaptation would be a great addition. The Marvel/Nelson one in the 90's was good- but it took place in modern times. Other than that, i'm not aware of another comic adaptation.
  • Someone always beats me to the punch. All the best with that - let us know the response.
  • That's so cool man! i like the uniqueness(Is uniqueness a word?)!
  • thanks guys! we'll see how it goes in San Diego!
  • It looks pretty cool. And just yesterday I have wondered if I should try making a story and coloring it in crayon, to try getting used to a different kind of art style and show that you can create a work of art using crayons.
