I came up with the scene where Brianna transforms voluntarily for the first time, but I need some advice on how to make it work. The case begins with a murder happening in the New Eden botanical gardens and exotic bird rescue. Every time killer walks by, Polly--an African Gray parrot who's ill and can't be around the other birds--calls out "Meanie! Meanie!" The killer decides to kill her as to keep his identity as the murderer hidden. In an attempt to rescue Polly, Brianna turns into a "doppelgänger" of sorts (a parrot who looks similar to Polly), while Dalton and the veterinarian hide the real Polly in a different part of the building. The two big things I need help figuring out are how the culprit intends to kill the parrot, how the characters get the real Polly out of harm's way, and how Brianna survives. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, please respond to the discussion I posted last night. Thanks!

1) For the killer's attempt on the bird, you could go for something sneaky, like poison in the water (but the bird probably wouldn't drink it), or a small handgun like a .22 (but risky for the bad guy to sneak that into a botantical garden...or maybe not depending on the security). I say you go creative and have the bad guy use a blowgun with a poison dart on it. That would be interesting for your artist to draw.
2) I am assuming that Dalton and the vet know about Brianna's powers, so they could just move the real bird during an after hours feeding time.
