CHRISTIAN COMIC ARTS SOCIETY :: A NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP FOR COMICS FANS, PROS, AND AMATEURS

Buy a comic, save a nation.

Within the next few months as I finish up TKTC: Herod, I will be putting it in print and starting a campaign called "Buy a comic, save a nation".  The idea is to sell my comic online and to donate all proceeds to a ministry for Haiti called The House of Abraham.  This ministry is just starting out and is basically an orphanage where children are taken off the streets and brought up and educated with Christian values to become the future leaders of Haiti.  I think that it will be hugely beneficial for the future of the country and want to support it.  When the time comes, I will be promoting through local news and radio in hopes that other Christian comic artist and writers would join in the cause.  My comic alone won't do much, but if many Christian comic creators do the same I feel we can have a huge impact in supporting this ministry and changing the future of Haiti.  What do you all think?

  • As a follow up, I did start a website for this cause at www.buyacomicsaveanation.org.  So far, TKTC is the only comic being made to support it, and it can currently be found at www.drunkduck.com/TKTC and www.facebook.com/rivalcomicsonline.
  • My comic is also a current, weekly updated webcomic!  I won't be ready to print for a couple of months yet, but I'm trying to get the ball rolling now.  If you're interested in getting yours in print when it's completed, and having it be a part of this campaign, let me know and we can talk it over!  I'm hoping that this project will pick up some momentum and get a lot of Christian artists and writers to join together and sell their work to spread the good word and support ministries and humanitarian efforts all over the world!  If with 12 men Christ was able to turn the whole world upside down, just imagine what we can do!

Please send a link to your webcomic, I'd love to see it!

I think it's a great idea! Count me in for a copy, and I'll help get the word out once it's out. Too bad my comic will start out as a webcomic, and is a long way from being ready to launch. I'm excited or what God is going to do with this idea. Keep me posted...
  • I had an opportunity to talk with the founder of the House of Abraham in Haiti today to start to really get this project focused!  He seemed really excited to be working with me, and I am really excited to see where God will lead us!  You can check out the post about our conversation on the site, www.buyacomicsaveanation.org !

Thanks for your interest in this project!
