Artist Needed to Create a Christian Superhero

Hi,

My name is Anthony Marchetta. I am the chief editor and co-author of the anthology "God, Robot" a book of Christian science fiction about robots who follow Christ's two greatest commandments. I am also a writer for the website superversivesf.com, a literary movement dedicated to bringing back fantastic fiction that builds up rather than tears down civilization - think "Daredevil: Born Again" vs. "Watchmen".

We at Superversive SF are banding together to form a comic book company, Superversive Press. I'll spare the details here for brevity's sake and instead tell you about my comic book hero: Paladin!

Paladin is the immortal Sir Lancelot, cursed with immortality due to his role in the fall of Camelot. In penance he wanders the world fighting supernatural creatures and stopping the powers of darkness from taking over the world. His first story, "The Rise of the Paladin", is about his arrival in the city of Shipton, NJ, a veritable warzone abandoned by the police and government and in a state of perpetual disrepair. He is there investigating the arrival of Morgan le Fey and discovers a vast conspiracy that seems to center around a young woman who may have powers of her own.

The story has everything - every supernatural creature I could think to cram in there, knights, sorcerers, magic and, in my favorite parts of the story, redemption, sacrifice, and love. And it is very, very Christian - Paladin is a Christian who prays, meets with a Priest, and tries to act in accord with Christian principles of mercy, charity, and chivalry, not to mention chastity.

The whole story is plotted in detail. The first issue has been written in full. All I need is an artist to work with.

I actually did a lot of thinking about Paladin's biggest fears, motivations, etc. His biggest fear isn't the return of Christ, but that nothing he does will ever be enough to make up for his role in the fall of Camelot. In that sense, I suppose you could say he does fear judgement day.

The age group is probably young adult. There's a romance in the background but no sexual content at all. There's violence and fighting but nothing overly graphic.

Sounds interesting. One thing to think about would be how Paladin's faith is affected by his immortality. What does heaven mean to him? Is he afraid to see the decline of the Earth before Jesus comes back? Also, what age group is this comic geared at?
