I was considering doing a case that's an allegory for the shooting of the South Carolina church shooting. The case begins when Brianna, her two kids from an unsuccessful marriage (Chase and Cassie), and her niece (Olivia) pull into the church parking lot. Olivia notices the back door slightly ajar. Brianna tells her somebody must already be inside. After everyone arrives, the kids get ready to sing, but just as they get ready to, Olivia smells smoke. It turns out someone planted a smoke bomb in the women's bathroom with a warning "leave or die." In the end, the police solve the crime and the person who did it is arrested. Dalton (the lawyer character) will take a "backseat" for this case and the focus will be on Brianna and Lance's (the police detective who's a good friend of Brianna) friendship. There will also be some sections from Olivia's point of view to show how she deals with it. The ending message will be absolutely nothing can separate us from God's love if we believe, and even when persecution hits a church, they can still stand together as a body of believers. What do you think?
